Some Small, Good Things.

Not to get all I’m writing in my Gratefulness Journal-Oprahfied on your ass or anything, but I just want to take a minute and concretely record somewhere that, indeed, Life Is Good.

Presents!

I received this lovely package from Robyn S.

yesterday. A sweet note, a mix-CD, and three

TOTALLY AWESOME handmade wacky little

animal head pins. So rad, so thoughtful.

The Kid's Art Wall In Our Living Room.

I installed this The Kid Art Space Wall in our

Living Room recently. Every Day I look at

it and it makes me feel good.

A Gift From The Neighbors.

Yesterday two of our neighbors stopped

by, totally unprompted, and gave me these.

This Friday? ROAD TRIP! I’m hitting the open road with Angela, heading up to Pittsburgh (which I’ve never been to before) for a weekend with the Mega-Super Spectacular Kelly.

And the cherry on top? Jay Parkinson, whose photography I’ve long admired, is going do portraits of me, Jamie, The Kid, and some family shots of us. We have a shoot scheduled with him two weeks from now. I can’t even express how excited I am just to meet him, and I’m sure I’ll be obsessing on this more and more as The Date nears.

I SO have nothing to complain about. Well, today.

What kind of animals ARE those pins? I love them, but I am also a little scared of them.

  • robyn

they aren’t really any specific animals. they don’t even have a name…we just refer to them as “heads”. they are made by a friend of mine, and she stitches them all by hand. she’s incredible. i keep trying to get her to sell them on the internet, but she doesn’t think anyone will buy them. as of now, she just makes them for presents or to be sold at expozines and indie/hipster craft fairs. i will be sure to pass on the comments to her!

Yes, I too love those little animal guys. She could definitely sell them. And hyacinths! It’s actually spring there? sigh.
