    Oh my dear God. We MUST get your darling girl and my Jack together. They share the same, let’s see, unique sense of humor.
    More importantly, they’d keep each other laughing, because they would have found someone (finally!) to appreciate their jokes.
    Sheesh. Who woulda thunk that learning what makes a joke a joke could be so tough? But it is.

    Oh wow. The deja vu! It overwhelms! The bad jokes! Ahhhh!
    We went out to dinner with another family a few weeks ago and while the other mother was in the restroom BubTar said he was going to tell her one of his non-sense jokes, and I said “But it doesn’t make sense, so it isn’t funny, tell one of the other jokes.” But he was determined, so when she returned he told it and she gave a hearty pity laugh…and he looked at me and said “See? I told you it was SO FUNNY!” and the other mom said “OMG, I’m so sorry I just did that to you…you’re going to have to listen to that joke forever now.” And we hear it all the time.

    About 7 years ago, this was my sweet girl’s favorite joke:
    Knock knock
    Who’s there?
    Banana
    Banana who?
    Banana head nose!
    Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

    We’re going through the same thing right now. Some days it is knock-knock jokes and some days it’s “why did the XX walk on the road” jokes.
    K: “Why did the pickle walk on the road? Because the car hit him! Bwahahahahahaha!”
    Me and Sean:[blank stare]
    Yeah, preschooler humour, while endearing, doesn’t bear any resemblance to logic or actual humour.

    this video scares me. I have a six month old and she looks so big to me already. You daughter is already looking so grown up! Its wonderful to hear the pure joy in your laughter with her. I really need to start using that video camera. (love, love your blog!)

    Ahh! The knock-knock jokes! My son is 4, and well, those are daily. Endearing but oh so painful.
    He ones he finds especially hilarious are ones that involve the words poop, boogers, and any number of outdoor animals and plants. That’s his recipe for comedy.
    She IS adorable though!

    Teen 2: So is your face.
    Teen 1: That doesn’t make any sense.
    Teen 2: Neither does your face.
    Teen 1: Oh yeah? Well, your mom goes to college!
    Teen 2: And so does her face.
    Teen 1: AAaaargh!!
    Teen 2: Mwahaha! My work here is done.
    Ummm, yeah … that gets old fast. :P

    Haaaa! I think your preschooler and my preschooler have been secretly calling each other, because her jokes are exactly. the. same!! And she thinks she is hilaaarious, especially if she is able to come up with a new gibberish word that includes poop in it somehow. Oy.
