Rebirth

First garden blooms

I spent most of the weekend digging out our front garden, excavating the dead remains of last year’s blooms to make room for the new growth. A few photos of Spring’s recent progress:

I swear, all of this has come up in the past 5 days. Its all sort of miraculous to me, each and every single year.

You, my friend, are a photographer. I love the first photo, just love it!

Spring is my favorite too. It’s so fast and furious, like if you look away for a minute, you’ll miss that crucial moment when the blooming happens. Too bad the cars have to be covered in neon green pollen the whole time.

Love love your pics, as always.

I will pay one ONE MILLION DOLLARS* if you will come and do my front flower bed.
*I really mean lots of cookies, airfare and all the booze you can drink.

How absolutely gorgeous! We had our first bulbs burst forth a few weeks ago (in NorCal) and in that short time I’d almost forgotten how magical they are. Happy spring!

Beautiful. I especially love the first one. What plant is that?
Mental note to PLANT BULBS next year. When are you supposed to plant bulbs?

Spring is absolutely a miracle, every single year. Bulbs amaze me the most.
Enjoy those daffodils – I know I’m loving all the ones we have in the neighborhood!

We didn’t have many bulb plants growing in San Diego, since it’s so warm year round.
My first Spring in Kansas City, I called everyone I knew on my way to work the morning the daffodils came up. It was so exciting. I still feel that way.

I am such a freak about walking around our yard each night to see what else has popped up or out. And when things have grown a quarter of an inch I squeal like a little girl and make my husband come see. Then he rolls his eyes…what a sweetheart.

Oooooh, I’m so jealous, I’m seeeeething with envy. Here in Connecticut, we ain’t got nuttin’. There are still big ugly hunks of SNOW on the ground. It’s finally warmer today but we’re not there yet. I am itching, just ITCHING to get in my garden, I’m so excited, it’s ridiculous. You’d think there was sex and booze hidden under that dirt.
