A letter from someone who has known Sarah Palin since 1992

Palin_sarah
Dear friends,

So many people have asked me about what I know about Sarah Palin in the last 2 days that I decided to write something up . . .

Basically, Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton have only 2 things in common: their gender and their good looks.

This letter was apparently posted in comments on The Washington Post. And while I’d urge you to keep in mind that questionable pedigree, I would also venture this has the ring of truth to it. Link

I have a "six degrees of separation" connection to see if I can find out if this woman is real – a friend who has a friend who is a long-time resident of Wasilla. I'll tweet if/when I find out more.

If other blogs can be considered reputable sources, it looks like there might be some supporting information here:

Granted, they have a vested interest in this NOT being true, so I am more inclined to believe it.

So, it turns out that, yes indeed, Anne Kilkenny DOES exist, DID write the letter, and stands by her words (http://www.andrys.com/palin-kilkenny.html#updates… The wife of the friend of my friend was one of about 40 original recipients of Ms. Kilkenny's letter.
Guess the age of the intarwebs has made me way too cynical! On the other hand, it also made it pretty easy to scope out the truth of this. Cool, huh?

I think this lady will have to move away from the reaches of Palin's tentacles. I'd be scared if I were her. I AM scared for all of us if the Reps. win this election.

Great detective work on the part of your reader.
I've given how I feel about this letter a lot of thought over the last few days. I am still a registered republican with fiscally conservative leanings but most of my social stances are liberal. However I am still not sure if I am even going to vote in this election.
    This letter bugs me.
I asked myself if I would feel the same way if this letter was written about Hilary Cinton. Um, yes. I would.
I have problems with it. The terms in here tend to make me think less of the author rather than Palin.
Palin is a die-hard conservative. That is no secret. It is the only reason my husband is voting because he hates McCain. She is driven. So is Hilary Clinton. You kind of have to be at this level of politics. I would bet that most of the people on the hill could have Barracuda attached to their names. I feel that term only came because she is a female.
Big portions of letter seem petty, insecure and like there was some big cat fight when they were teenagers that the author never got over it.
(The middle school analogy? Really? I hate it every time someone uses it in regards to BlogHer and I certainly have no stomach for that comparison in politics)
Plus, I am ALWAYS ALWAYS uncomfortable when someone claims to speak on behalf of other people. Especially with her mainly non-political background and the people she is speaking for.
So…I really don't care if the author exists or if it was written by a crazed right-wing nut. I give this as much weight as the scads of people who write personal letters of support.
I will say that the mudslinging in this election on all sides is REALLY making me wish for February, already.
P.S. Totally apologizing for writing a novel in your comments
P.P.S @Florencia. Well, if it makes you feel better, the Reps around my state feel the same way about the Dems.
Either way this election goes down it will be history making, which I think is just damn cool.
