Is commentz timez nao?

Oh hai, I’m Tracey. You seem to have stumbled upon my blog.

Ohhai

(I am a magical being who glows as if lit from within. Try to not be intimidated, though I know it will be difficult.)

Some of you have been here before. Some of you are new here. In either case, most of you never comment. Dorks.

BUT! Today is Delurking Day, so I would like each of you to do me the supreme honor of answering the following Standard Delurking Day Question in comments here:

If you had to pick a theme song for yourself, what song would it be?

Interpret that as you will. Links to your chosen track somewheres on the web for our listening pleasure appreciated, but not required.

I’ll go first. Here’s mine:

Talk to me, people.

OK, I'll delurk, but I won't answer your question. Hell, it depends on the day, even the moment. Plus, unlike some people (like you and my husband), music is not that integral to my life. So I don't think in terms like theme song. Just not wired that way, sorry. That said, I really enjoy your blog. Thanks for inviting us into your life.

Aimee Mann's 4th of July for the opening:
    Today's the fourth of July
    Another June has gone by
And as they light up our town I just think
"What a waste of gunpowder and sky"

Not a lurker, as you know, but I love the question.
My theme song for many years has been "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers.
Cause you really do have to know when to fold 'em sometimes…

Hey there – I'm a long-time lurker, discovered you I believe because I'm an old LJ friend of kdiddy. I've always ignored Delurking Day (everywhere, not just your blog), but decided I should participate this year. Because that's the point.
Anyway, the theme song I've chosen for myself is "Lonely Holiday" by the Old 97s, as evidenced by my LJ username. Chorus: "Baby I'm not lonely; I've got my imaginary friends." I'm a bit of a loner.
But one of my old interns stopped by the office today and reminded me that he used to say Ben Folds Five's "Philosophy" was my theme song because of the line "I'm crazy but I get the job done." And yes, that describes my professional life!
    I guess I have two.

  • Shalini

Delurking to say I don't have a theme song. Though I'm often singing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song at request of the kids.

  • Alyce

    I was torn. Martha Wainwright's Bloody Motherf*cking A**hole or the 5 6 7 8s Woo Hoo.
    I chose the latter: http://tinyurl.com/9suje4

I had to come back and see what everyone else said. Since you clarified though (honestly, I've now thought about this for a day. Yes, I need a life), my song right now is Days Like This by Van Morrison.

    Damn Sweetney.
I am so not cool. Not anymore. I have no theme song right now. Must. Get. One.
What I do have are 4 kids under 7. They are cool, hence my lack of cool. Cool?
I wore this song out a few months ago, so it was a temporary theme. A propos for what life brought to me. BTW great tune you posted. Love that.

right now, at this very moment, it's totally: 'Subdivisions' by Rush.
other times it's: 'Springtime' by Leatherface.
most times though it's: 'Kool Thing' by Sonic Youth.
"I mean, are you gonna liberate us girls from male, white, corporate oppression?"
I love the Chuck D too.

  • daniele

Today's theme song is "Momma, don't yer babies grow up to be cowboys"

I'm 2 days late on the delurking, so sue me. :) Just stumbled on your blog and am totally digging it.
We Charm City bloggers need to stick together!! Especially if it involves mid afternoon cocktails.

  • Leila

So I'm late, but my theme song of the day is definitely Robot Parade by They Might be Giants.

  • Kathleen

I lurk all the time. Since you need to know I'm reading. I am. My song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N4ckFN96-k

  • Chris

Sorry, I don't know how to do those fancy linky-things, but my song? Easy. "Subdivisions" by Rush. Absolute, 100%, I-swear-they-wrote-it-about-me, my song.

  • sumo

Honestly, my immediate reaction upon reading the assignment was "Nowhere Man" by the Beatles. I realized that it was just the state of mind I was in and that I wasn't really despondent enough to delurk just to have that song attached to my pseudonym for all time. After a week of contemplation, I have decided that the following video more accurately tells you everything you need to know about me: http://cgi.fark.com/cgi/fark/vidplayer.pl?IDLink=…
The runner up (because I've been spending oh so many hours reading blogs rather than living my own life) is "I Google You", performed here by Amanda Palmer: http://www.sunclipse.org/?p=768

  • sumo

Oh, forgot to mention: I covet your theme song.

  • LolaGranola

Since I comment about once every million years, I guess this counts as a delurk, no?
Anyway, my theme song: Back in Black by AC/DC.
It's even my cell phone ring. Because I am a dork.
