our progress thus far.
at the end of day one of Operation Excrement Storm:
me (in authoritative-yet-mild tone): “now M_, when you have to go pee-pee or poopies, what do you do?”
M_, seated on couch (in her high-pitched, most enthusiastic-sounding voice): “i want to pee-pee on the couch!!!!”
and so we now move rapidly on to the overt-bribery-with-chocolate portion of our program.

m&m's. yes, i resorted to bribery, but you know what? it works!

hahahaha! I'm sorry, as annoying as it must be, it's really cute.
I had a poopy day yesterday as well. Went through three--count 'em, three!--sets of crib bedding. Yuck.

When my neighbor potty trained her girls, she let them run around the house and yard nekkid. Swore by it. Now that was a bit much for us, and it made the older brothers of the household uncomfortable. So Zoe wore dresses with no underwear. Naked butt makes it much easier to GO IMMEDIATELY. Hopefully in the potty. And yes, bribes are great.
Also, have her sit on the potty periodically, just to try. She can watch Zoo Lane from the throne. She can sit there with a book, whatever.
When she produces, make a big fuss. We used birthday party noisemakers and cheering. Pathetic, huh? Oh, and the poop thing takes longer, for some reason.
Do not use pull-ups, except at bedtime. They are nothing but glorified diapers. Did M_ get to go to Target to pick out her big-girl underwear?
Our training took about 10 days intensive, but it was soooo worth it. She was trained at 2 years, 5 months. The ONLY one to begin preschool (of 17 kids)in underwear. Gloat.
