The Men Of American Idol In Two Sentences (More Or Less).
While the underdog-lover in me truly wants Taylor Hicks to win (if only because he's old -- well, relatively -- and as a decrepit mid-thirtish Elderly Lady, I like to see the oldsters come out on top), deep in my heart I know he's the Marty of Rock Star: INXS to Chris Daughtry's J.D.: the dude with more talent and personality who just plain isn't cute enough.
And, relatedly, a little heads-up to Chris Daughtry: this world does not need more Creed.

The great thing about these contests is that, while the most deserving doesn't usually win, the runner up goes on to be bigger and hotter than if he/she actually won.
I rooted for Marty from day one and almost put my foot through the TV when he 'lost'. Did he really lose, though?
Last month, we saw Marty & the Lovehammers open for INXS and Marty is a MUCH bigger, sexier rock star than JD ever will be. The audience was on their feet for their entire set. I see HUGE things for him. My boyfriend, who went to see INXS, came away saying that the Lovehammers was the best live show he has ever seen.
No matter who wins, true talent will get picked up and go places.
oh, and I totally agree ... Creed died for a reason.

I dig both. I think they're the top two guys & Mandisa and Catharine are the top two girls. Don't you think Taylor has a touch of Clooney around the eyes & brows? I think he's sexy so long as he's not doing that epileptic dancing.

No, gah!, I hated Marty. He screamed all the time. Even though I thought JD was insane and I never would've voluntarily spent time with him, I thought he was more "roit for our band, INXS."
I like Chris more than Taylor, but only because I prefer the music that Chris prefers. Mostly though, it makes me look forward to Season 2 of Rock Star.

I like Taylor's dancing, but I was brought up by two Joe Cocker fans.
Sadly, only Paris and Elliot (who I wish would perform with a mask) did a decent job last night. Oh, and my top four is the same as Eden's.

I have to agree about Taylor, he's got talent & personality but not the look that the average AI album buyer wants.
Ooooh, Chris, if he would just let go of the Creed thing I think he could at least make Final Four. Televisionwithoutpity called his performance last week "the Stappiest version of a country song you could ever imagine".
I don't know about the girls, definitely Mandisa. Either Paris or Catherine, they're both good on stage. Kellie has got to go.

uggh. Amen on the Creed thought Sweetney. Amen indeed.

there's something about taylor... i am both completely attracted and utterly repelled. it's the jerking. and the bowl-cut, i think.

Chris sang Creed last night? Thank goodness I wasn't watching because I may have thrown something at the television. Same if he had sang Nickelback. The world doesn't need any more of either of those groups or their music!

havinggrown up a joe cocker fan (generation gap alert here, kids!) i am totally into taylor's "dancing". when he's not being self-conscious, that is... and i thought his song last night was great, showed off his pipes quite nicely, thank you very much.
regarding rockstar: INXS, my husband and i were marty fans from the get go (i'm sorry... but his rendition of britney's "hit me baby, one more time" was brilliant!) oh well, at least he's gettin' to open for the band.
(back to idol) chris is fab... so shouldn't he be on rockstar?(they just announced another season with a new band featuring tommy lee...called, i think, super nova--real original, right?) i wasn't in love with his song choice last night... you're right, tho' he's a lot like marty, and, as such, he should do more live songs... they suit him...
still... let's face it, the bland hillary duff wanna-be, katharine, is gonna win, right? blech.

Taylor bugs me, I just can't hop on the I love Taylor train. I was totally rooting for Marty to win INXS, but I'm glad he didn't, because I agree with Flippy, he wasn't "roit for our band, INXS." I'm so looking forward to Season 2 with Tommy Lee.
