Sweetney.com's Great Moments In Advertising: The “Who Would You Give A Volvo To?” Campaign
Whoever came up with this ad has quite clearly been living my life:
So, so good (and so on-the-money).
EDIT: Speaking of good advertising, Danny from Dad Gone Mad just hepped me to this video ad, which is (in a wholly different way from the Volvo advert) totally amazing.

Dude, I love this commercial too ('cause it totally nails it as far as kids that age), but every time I see it, I ask the same thing: Who dressed this child? Seriously, she's wearing, like, eight different patterns here.

i don't generally consider myself to be slow-witted, but i can't for the life of me figure out this ad. am i supposed to want to give a volvo to the little girl? to the dad? and why?

That could be my son.
Him: "blah blah blah"
Me: "oh yeah, mmmhhhmmm, really, ohhhh, mmmm"

I think you're supposed to want to have a Volvo to keep your kids safe. Or something. But confusing marketing messages aside, I love it. That is a snapshot of my life right now with my 2, 4, and 5 year olds!

I don't have kids, but this commercial was hilarious to me. Reminds me of the stupid stories I used to make up that made no sense at all... And her clothes clearly show that she got to pick out her own outfit when she got dressed. Love it.

Every time my dad sees this he laughs until he cries. Apparently reminds him of his only daughter. I was talking at 9 months and in full sentences after learning the basic words. Haven't shut up yet, I'm told.

That Bravia spot gave me The Boner That Ate Baltimore.

I love the Bravia commercial, but the other one, the balls, are just incredible. You can switch over to see the long version on the sony bravia site. Check out the balls and tell me if that isn't the best commercial ever made!

God, did I ever get this, much to my dismay. My nine-year-old never stops talking. When we tell him to go to bed, he keeps talking all the way upstairs until we can't make out the words anymore. But he's still talking...

If she was a he? That would be our car ride home every. single. day.

this ad has so many good, priceless moments, but i think my favorite involves watching the father's internal debate over closing the car door on his daughter's rambling. its a moment i debate internally nearly every single day, and its executed beautifully here.

Dude, I want a vulva right now! I can totally not afford that shit, but I know I want it. I would like to shut the door on everyone. Like when I set the phone on the table when my sister calls. Bitch.
